Acura recently unveiled the new Type S variant of the Integra, and the automaker has now confirmed pricing for the hot hatch. The Integra Type S starts at $51,995, which is a significant bump over the Honda Civic Type R's $44,890 starting price. While both models share a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential, there are a few differences between the two vehicles.
However, Acura justifies the higher cost of the Integra Type S by offering plenty of standard equipment that's not available in the Civic Type R. This includes heated front seats, a head-up display, a 16-speaker ELS audio system, and a power driver's seat. Additionally, the Integra Type S produces 320 horsepower compared to the Civic Type R's 315 hp.
The Integra Type S comes in white, blue, red, and a gold Tiger Eye Pearl hue, which is also offered on the TLX and MDX. However, customers won't have many options other than premium colors. Most paint options cost $600 extra, which is similar to the TLX and MDX Type S models.
Reservations for the first 200 Integra Type S models will be available on May 11 at 1 p.m. Eastern time on Acura's website, and the cars will be delivered to dealerships in June.
