If you think about it, the Lamborghini Aventador is basically a Countach for the 21st century. It's loud and brash with styling that's impossible to miss. The Aventador is obscenely powerful, making 691 horsepower from a 6.5-liter V12. In a world of hybrids and turbos, the Aventador is also one of the last supercars to get the job done with a naturally aspirated engine.

The Acura NSX may as well be the Aventador's exact opposite. Its styling is still pretty wild, but it uses a 3.5-liter V6, two turbochargers, and three electric motors to get going. Even with all that technology, its 573 horsepower is still way short of the Aventador's.

Considering how much of a departure the new NSX is from the original, Honda's latest take on the NSX seems to have left some lovers of the original feeling a little cold. It doesn't have the same passion, outrageousness, or brashness you expect from a supercar like the Lamborghini. But in this drag race, Honda's high-tech approach is reigns supreme.

Obviously, conditions would be a little bit different on a prepared drag strip, and driver skill plays a significant factor here. This video also appears to have been shot in Utah where elevation likely had an impact, but still. The fact that the NSX could even keep up is impressive. Watching it win? That was completely unexpected.
