Acura announced today that the very first production model 2017 NSX has rolled off the assembly line of their Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. The Valencia Red Pearl NSX, with vehicle identification number 001, has been delivered to its buyer, Rick Hendrik, who placed a $1.2 million bid at the Barrett-Jackson auction in January. For that price, Hendrick’s NSX comes optioned with exclusive interwoven wheels, carbon ceramic brake rotors, leather and Alcantara interior trim, and carbon fiber upgrades to the engine cover, roof, and rear decklid spoiler. Customers shouldn't exepct to pay nearly that much for future models, though, as base pricing sits just under $160,000.
The proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to charity.
